yep..me too..its because youre always comparing it to that great first relationship..nothing can top it..even though you guys have broken up and were bumpy you still think about the good times..i suggest talking to him..giving him a call on a holiday..fathers day is tomorrow..call him and just be nice..DONT bring up past ****..ull regret it..say ure "seeing someone" even if its serious..but make sue he knows ure not hitting on him..say you want to stay in contact and you want to know how his lifes been going..if ure ex is like my frist love he may lie and say hes not with anyone even though he is because he may see this as an opportunity to get back with you..but be nice keep the conversation under an hour and say, "hope to talk to you soon"..none of this lets hang out later..what are you doing tomorrow stuff..let it evolve if its ever going to be more..keep it simple..me and my friends still talk to our firsts and are friends with them..its worth it to know how they are..it sux not knowing and being completely cut off..you never know..one day..they could be the one

People always seem to compare new loves in their loves to old loves. It's very hard to let go of your first love. I would guess that you haven't been separated from your first love for very long. Don't worry about it, it's normal. Eventually you will find someone so perfect for you, you won't have to compare him to anyone.

I think it is just natural to compare your love to your first love. Many people say first love is the most memorable.
So don't worry too much.

There's just some people in life you will NEVER get over. Lotz of people have your problem. You have to decide if you want to be with your first love. You have to decide are you in love with your first love or are you in love with your memories together.

Just think of why you and your first love broke-up and keep in mind that he is gone and you have an opportunity to love again and probably that would help.

if you still think of him then your not ready to date again. it's not fair on you or the person your with to be thinking of someone else when your suppose to be in a relationship.
give youself time before you start something new!
