My Chow-Collie mix is ALL OVER ME when I sneeze. She howls like crazy. She doesn't do this when anyone else sneezes.
What's up with it? She's been doing this for 8 years!!

Maybe the dog thinks your howling when you sneeze

How high-pitched is your sneeze? If it's higher than that of any other person that has sneezed around her, it might be that she's just more sensitive to it and you scare her (either for your safety or her safety) when you do it. If not, I'd go with what other people have been saying about just worrying about you in particular. It also could be that there's a particular pitch that bothers her ears. I'd say pretty much everybody has heard something that has made them cringe that has had no effect on other people around them; dogs are probably no different.

LOL that's cute! Probably considers you an important part of the pack, and wants to be involved with whatever is going on.

chows are very sensitive to their owners! collies are also close to wolf for howlers! you obviously have a very sympathetic animal who loves you very much, and is trying to share your uncomfortablility.(theres a word!)
