not everyone wants it

when buying a new computer, you get some softwares but almost all of them are trialware which will end average of 3 - 6 months. Its just another way for companies to market their softwares. Some retailers do have options to purchase extra softwares for full versions, but sadly not all. Soons they will eliminate all cds and have everyone just download everything. its cheaper and faster.

If its a new computer then it should be in the box, if it wasn't then do a restore, and that should work. Go back to the date that it did work properly, if that's not far enough then do it again and go back farther. Or get hold of the company that you bought the computer from and ask why there was no disk in the box.

They would rather sell it for some astronomical retail price at Best Buy than to have someone pirate the disc. They say it is "copy-proof," but i doubt it. The answer is also the less they give you, the less it costs them.

They don't give it to you individually becase people could sell it or something after making a copy for themselves with a cd burner.

I got full versions with mine. Granted they're OEM versions but when it's necessary to reformat my harddrive, they'll put it back the way it was when I first got it.
