If you're asking this then you're probably not in love.
You just know, it feels right and you know you want to be with that person forever. It may come with time or it may happen straight away, but when it does you'll know.

thats so funny..i was just thinking the same question..its so hard to tell sometimes..i feel like im in love with the person until we get into a fight..im usually so angered by them that at the time i dont feel any love for them..this has happened in so many relationships and out of two of them i feel like i really was in love..however..when im in it i get so infatuated i feel its forever..its really confusing..i think ure first long term relationship is true love..when you cant wait for their call..touch...kiss..when both of ure worlds are each other..when ure friends with each others families/friends..when theyre are alot more good times than bad ones..when you dont feel pushed aside and you feel completely equal with the other person....when that person really listens to you and has something to say in response when you have an issue..when that person will drop something for you just to see you that night..then you know its love..but hey,lol..how would i know? i'm in the same boat...
