Sure, remember the bible is only someone's interpretation. Your beliefs are your own.

Sure you can. The bible just says God created, doesn't go into detail on the ways and means. Evolution is an established fact . If you're a christian who believes the biblical creation story is also factual then the two concepts have no choice but to be compatible. The whole debate is similiar to the dark ages when the debate was over the shape of the earth, flat and square or round.

The overwhelming evidence would confirm that evolution is a reality that we live with like it or not.
God is a word that has a thousand meanings. It is much easier to comprehend if you substitute the word life for god. It then becomes much simpler to see how evolution is the way it is.
As for the bible, there are many truths that make it worthy of reading. You should read the bible after meditating to receive a greater understanding.
Of course there are many inconsistant statements in the bible that should cause one not to take everything written litterally. The best example is where Cain kills Able and God banishes Cain from Eden and Cain goes to the east land of Nod and takes a wife; uuh like where did she come from.

Absolutely!!! God is the designer and creator of everything, including evolution. Darwin was a genius! And I agree with something that someone here said, that God wouldn't put dinosaur bones and other fossils into the ground just to confuse us. He is not the God of confusion, He is the God of reason. We're SUPPOSED to learn, to reason, to think, that's what God gave us intelligence for! It's His greatest gift to man, the gift of reason!!!
As to human evolution, yes, humans have evolved too. Modern man doesn't look like ancient man, differences have been made during these thousands of years. However, man is a unique species not evolved from apes. Ancient man isn't like modern man, but ancient man is still man, still homo sapien.
Remember, no missing link has ever been discovered. There's a reason why.

The vast majority of Christians in the first world do.
And by Christian I mean people who believe in Jesus Christ, not biblio-idolators.
Another question would be, can you believe in the Bible as God's word and b Christian. I would answer that NO.
Any real Christian church would never teach the mythology of the Bible. Any of it. The Bible says that the earth has corners in Isaiah 11:12, while in I Samuel 2:8 we are told that the world is established on pillars. The same god therefore that says that our round world spinning through the void is flat or cubic (to have corners) and sits on pillars also accepts human sacrifice from one general (Judges 11:30-39), causes cannibalism (Jeremiah 19:9) and endorses, even commands the taking of sex slaves (Numbers 31: 17-18). He personally sends wild animals to kill people's children (Leviticus 26:22) and wipes the faces of his priests with dung (Malachi 2:1-3). The short way of saying this is the god of the bible is a monster. Biblio-idolatry is monstrous from its beginnings, for it celebrates such an evil and depraved god.
I am happy to say that as a Christian I believe in Jesus Christ, not a book of bronze age myths about a god who cannot even lead his people to defeat chariots of iron, after promising that he will (compare Joshua 17: 18 with Judges 1: 19-21). Jesus is a god of love who teaches us to live just lives, caring for others, going to the poor and the sick and the halt and the young and the old -- and doing for all those we can.
You can keep your old myths and the churches that believe in them -- and I pity you and hope Christ will open your eyes to a better way than that.

Well, I think the bible and science are at odds. I have a lot of respect for intelligent Christians, who accept evidence for big bang/evolution/etc and then try to fit god into the picture, as a prime mover, or using the mechanisms of evolution to accomplish his aims.
Unfortunately, there are many Christians, on this site especially, who have no understanding of science and reason, and who insist on denying that which does not fit into their limited, literal interpretation of the bible.
I find that more than a little sad, and I feel genuine sorrow for those people.

Some people say you can but the Bible and evolution contradict each other. These line walkers are just trying to impress. God didn't design evolution as many a theistic evolutionist would suggest.

Defiantly, I do. So God made the earth and he is in total control. Isn't it possible that instead of just plopping Adam and Eve down he decided to create them another way like through evolution. God doesn't always do things the obvious way. He takes his time. He still controlled the whole thing. The Bible is just one account. There are things taking place around the stories in the Bible as well. These things just aren't written down.

Yes. Some people do believe that God used evolution to create the world and its inhabitants.

Of course, all the book of Genesis says is, God gave a man something special. And then he blew it. So he waited several thousand years, and wiped everybody from the face of the earth, except for a few. That means we can all trace some of our DNA, to that one man. Only Jesus could trace all of his DNA to that one man. But that wasn't evolution, it was very, very, selective breeding.
I do have a problem with Christians who can't see that it's Darwin's hypothesis that is anti-christian. He saw mortal competition in nature, and justified man's character as necessary for survival. The ends justified the means. And the survival of the fittest is exact opposite of what Christ taught.

Yes...the two theories of creationism and evolution don't contradict each other. It's possible that God created the tiny beings and caused them to evolve into organisms with more complex structures up to humans.
