Oh yes, many times. I have fibromyalgia and I forget things at the drop of a hat. I no sooner meet some one then do I forget their names. I have to ask for it again. You simply smile and be polite. Otherwise you can do a little floursih and a bow with a "TADA!!" on top of it.( I've tried that. It makes people laugh)

oh yeah, i was nice to the person to their face but i quickly made up an excuse to be somewhere else, then when they called, i kept making excuses.. its just not worth the hassle if they make you cringe

I was introduced to a Chinese fella and said "Herro"

everytime I saw him I'd try to make myself say "hi" but it always came out "herro"

Met a foreign student, looking at her photographs I said 'oh, is that your mother and grandfather', nope it was her father. Big cringe, she wasn't at all impressed.

Oh yes, I once said "oh you look chavvy!" quite cheerfully, it was a few years ago, before the chav image really got bad. But they didn't really talk to me after that...
