When I decide what I'm doing for dinner, a few factors come into play. My apartment gets hot when the oven or stove is on, so on hot days I usually just have something that doesn't need to be cooked, like salad or leftovers. It also depends on how much work I want to put into it. If I want to do easy, I just make something that I have in my freezer, pop a side dish into the microwave, and steam some frozen vegetables.
There are times when I just decide to go all-out and I make something special (like my homemade pizza), and then everything just goes out the window! The urge to go big and fancy usually strikes ahead of time, so it's easier to plan.
The real key to deciding what you're going to make is having things that you're going to like on hand, and on nights when I go out to eat, I just go and get whatever I'm in the mood for, since there's just about everything except a good Chinese place where I live!

It will be whatever I bought at the store that day, or whatever I have left over. I don't mind eating the same thing two or three days in a row. Or if my bf takes me out to eat, then I will have whatever he has. Lately I have been on a kick of avocado halves filled with cottage cheese, because the weather has been so hot here. Sometimes I will have Stouffer's meals on hand and just microwave something. Worst comes to worst, I usually have lite hot dogs on hand and will just roll in a slice of whole-wheat bread and nuke.

I find several different recipies and try them out...when I find something that my family or I enjoy, then I incorporate into a menu. Your body also has cravings, and usually those cravings are for a certain nutrient that you are lacking. I try to have a variety of different meats and veggies to switch it up, but if you stay within what the reccomendations are for a days' worth of servings and such, you are usually satisfied. Whatever sounds good usually makes this process easier.

Simple, whatever you like is what you eat. Most people have varied tastes, so just interchange each day with different veggies, rice, pasta, salad etc, have take out once in a while, I mean it's not hard to do when there's so much available........

Whatever is quick and easy. Lately it's been a quarter of a roasted chicken breast from the local supermarket. It's rotisserie and delicious, it's cooked and ready to eat and it's under 3 bucks!
