Sayuri, the name of the lead character from " Memoirs of a Geisha", pretty, but not froo froo. My girl cat that passed on was named Fuji. A fun thing to do is to go to a translator site and punch in different words to see what they are in different languages, you're sure to find something.

I always wait until I get the animal and then choose a name by the look of the animal(with black around the eyes might be Bandit) or the way it act like cuddles or sneaky.

I named my 4 week old (the runt of the litter, of a stray) Monster, little did I know how true it is. At 6 weeks old he has no respect for human life, he climbs me like a tree and sits on my shoulder purrs and looks at me like Hey I like your view. Gotta love him, hes my Monster. Depending on it's behavior or color, you should give a name that suits him/her.

For example,an orange tabby could be Tigger.
A grey kitten could be Smokey.
A clumsy one could be Tumbler.

Kittens native to an area could have names from there.
