It isn't. Keeping religion out of schools promotes freedom of religion for *everyone*, of every religion and no religion. It allows people to send their kids to school without worrying about whether they will be indoctrinated with religious beliefs that they don't agree with, presented as if they were facts. That's why secular schooling is essential for everyone, religious and atheist alike.

Don't be so onesided by teaching Evolution?!?! Is there anything else other than Evolution? Why would we teach that the earth is what 10,000 years old when it's proven to not be true?? Where did Dinosaur bones come from? Kids aren't stupid, if they can hear that a dog barks, why would you keep insisting to teach that it moo's?
Look Evolution is a theory based on FACTS. The world was created in 6 days is a theory, based on a theory, that is based on a theory. You all realize that the Bible wasn't written in English? The Bible supposedly is the word of god, INTERPRETED by humans! Interpreted by humans in another language. The bible has then been altered and edited by the Catholic Church and rewritten in Latin. And now it's been rewritten and translated into English. Have you ever talked to someone who's read a book in 2 different languages? A LOT of context gets losted in translation. Please people, stop taking the Bible so literally!!!
Theres a place for Education, theres a place for Religion. Keep Religion in the Church (or temple or whatever) and keep Education in School. If you don't like it, theres always Catholic School. Or whatever religious school you want to goto.

It isn't. I liked it when I was in school in the 60's and 70's. There was no religion in schools, but it never stopped anyone from praying or practicing their religion. It simply let everyone have their own beliefs and never introduced them into the school setting. I spent 12 years with Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Agnostics, Buddhists, Scientoligists, and a few other lesser known religions. We all learned from each other in an atmosphere of cooperation that a belief in God, or the absence of a god was OK in any context and someone believing differently was not a threat to any of us.
Religion is a very emotional thing and I believe it should be a very private thing, never shared unless you are questioned about it.

First of all...Evolution is a religion, anything that you cannot prove and requires faith to believe in...is a religion, and there is no reason that creationism shouldnt be taught in school....there isnt even a law against it. The ACLU will just threaten any teacher, but the law is that you cannot force a religion, and teaching isnt forcing. Teaching evolution and only evolution is a total example of a bias. It makes me really upset! Its not forcing, its just that your not teaching another version of what happended making kids who believe what they are taught, to chose to believe in evolution.

It isn't. It's just another red-herring argument that creationists like to use for some reason. It is utterly false and logically retarded, but they seem to like it because it falls squarely within thier narrow-minded world view.
Oh and for "ilovejeebus247" up there. PLEASE get a modicum of education. Evolution is not a religion, no matter how much your teeny-tiny mind tells you so.
It is SCIENCE and it is the basis of ALL biological research. Please get that through your thick skull ok?
I've included a link just for you, read it, or at least get someone with an education above the 3d grade (that means MORE than) to read it to you slowly.

It doesn't. Would agree evolution is a theory, the best one we have at present to explain our existance. Intelligent design, creationism, on the other hand is not a theory. It has no basis in science, no evidence at all that supports it, and as such would not qualify as a scientific theory. Intelligent design would best be classified as chistian mythology.

Its not, except that the 10 commandments teaches us to be civil to one another. Take a look at the statistics prior to 1960 and now. Its dramatically worse.
