Is he lost, or are you a birthmother? If the latter, here's a place to start:

IF HE IS A RUNAWAY
First off remember to be be patient with him when you do find him, he may run away again and this time may not come back to you. I know from experience. If he is a runaway, get a hold of his friends, hopefully a good friend and explain the situation to him/her, there is a chance that he/she knows where he is and may not tell you for fear of losing friendship with him. Check with his friends and see if they can check out where he hangs out. Please note that if he has been missing for more then two hours, get a hold of the local police and state to them that he is a runaway. Don't let anyone tell you, you have to wait over 24 hours, that is not true. You can report him missing as soon as he leaves your house. When the police contact you, they want to know if you have a pic of him, and if possible what kind of clothes he likes to wear, any fav hangouts, etc. For you, be patient, don't get yourself upset. You have to be strong.

IF HE WAS GIVEN UP FOR ADOPTION
If you are looking for a child that you gave up for adoption check with the local adoption agency and hopefully they will allow the records to be opened up.

Take care and good luck in both ways. Hope you find him.

Lady, your going to have to give us more information about your son. Sure, there are so many of us out here more than willing to help you but you are being too vague. Come back to yahoo questions and answers later with more information about your son and maybe someone can direct you to the proper channels.

OK? Don't give up just come back later and let us know more about your son, like name where he lives etc etc

It took my sister and I almost 15 years to locate our brother whom was adopted out right at the hospital after his birth. We didn't know his name, anything, and our father wouldn't say anything. But we had one clue. He was adopted by my fathers attorney's associate. We had gone through the adoption/location services such as PACER in California (415) 935-6622, or ALMA (415) 523-4774. Both of these might have 800 numbers by now, or even on the Web. If you call them they might be able to give you some advice as you are going the opposite direction, sort of, than my sister and I in trying to find Allen. We were doing our search in the early 1980's and the Internet didn't exist then. Now with so many Internet Web sights to locate people you might just want to take your time and start there. But I'm figuring you are "looking" for your son you adopted out yes? You might try the phone book/information in the town you adopted him out of. for any such local services like ALMA or PACER. Try and backtrack as much as possible from point you gave him up. That is what my sister and I had to do and it worked for us. His adopted parents were more than willing to give us information *** we were all in our 30's then, mature, grown up, had families, so it wasn't like we were intruding at all in their "personal and private" stuff.

you need more info... do you mean he is lost or like your husband took him?

if he is lost call his friends and check if they have seen him, then ask the neighbors, and try to remember where he was when you last saw him, try searching in that area

if your husband took him then you need to get one of those missing children things that they hang up and see like when you are walking out of wal-mart.(not exactly sure how you get those). best of luck finding your son
