I try and treat people as I'd like to be treated whether they wrong me or not...in order to do that you MUST..forgive them and forget what they've done to you. If you hold the grudge..you did NOT forgive them. it is obviously not easy and has never been meant to be easy...

If everyone in the world practice the Golden Rule, we wouldn't even need commandments...

I don't know what the Golden rule is, but I do keep all the commandment and the extra commandments in Leviticus 19.

As generally articulated, the Golden Rule is really a fairly empty proposal and it needs to be given a little more prescriptive content.
Imagine a sado-masochist who gets his jollies when he beats up people AND when he's getting bashed himself. Is it OK for him to whack you one because he'd love it if you did it to him?

I strive to live the "Golden Rule" but I slip and fall many times ... Thank God, and Jesus for giving the gift of the "Act of Contrition" to heal me from my falls.
