Yeah I mean come on, I think if some little boys that act "girly", it's okay! I mean it could be a stage! Then a few months later, they probably going to do more so called "boy things". Sometimes it's a stage, sometimes it is not. But I think it's okay! It's their life! We can't control other people.
But what's wrong with 'tomboys", I'm one myself!

I see a possibility for getting harassed or rejected at school mainly for the "boy bieng girly" part. Many males, as one person pointed out, are usually pictured as "strong and big" and therefore, girly boys are probibly excluded for the fact that they have the feelings and share the same opinions as "weak little girls" (Im noit trying to be sexist...im only saying what I think is bad about little boys being girly, and saying what I think other males the same age as the child think most likely).
I appoligize if this wasnt helpful...I just thought I might bring up another point of view.

Who says it's not OK for a little boy to act girly?
Whoever it is - put them in their place.
Kids will be kids and will try out numerous things before they find out what they like. Just leave them alone to explore.
You can go too far the other way also. My ex-husband bought my son dollies to play with and tried to make him play house etc.
The next day I found the dolls with all the legs, arms and heads ripped off. He said he had fun.

I know what you mean and it is very unfair.
I have always allowed my children to dress up and play with friends dolls if they have wanted to. I felt no shame in it, it is all part of growing up. They are both 'typical' boys. They climb trees, kick a ball about etc. It has done them no harm whatsoever and they are able to interact with both boys and girls.
People should stop worring what others think and allow their children to be children. No child is gay until they start to be aware of their sexuality, and even then, if my children came home and told me they were gay I would give them my full support because they are MY children and I will continue to love them and respect them until the day I die!

Double standards. People have such a narrow perspective of what is acceptable for boys and girls. Why don't we encourage children to explore their world and pursue what things interest them so they can become well rounded people? There should be no associating gender with your interst in poetry or painting, with fishing and sports, dolls or action figures. We expect boys to be rough and tumble but girls to be quiet and almost motherly.Let your children learn to be good people , to want to learn and grow, to love and respect. Don't deny any child the comfort zone of having emotions, let them laugh, cry,be happy and sad. Sometimes we want to mould children to fit ourself , allow them to grow to fit themself. We always preach that children are individuals then let's back up this statement by allowing our children to be themself.

Very good question and good thinking Bodom! The simple answer is : (good old) Double Standards!
My friend Sandy tried to join the Marines, but was rejected because his hobby is ballet dancing and his reason for wanting to join the Corps was : "I think the uniform is cute".

people are "homo-phobic" just let him be who he is. Don't worry about the public. My brother played with dolls and had tea parties as a kid now he is with a lovely girl and burly and manly. My friens brother played sports, fished , hunted ect and has a very nice male life partner. It means nothing so it shouldn't bother you.

Because their fathers have to much testerone and are homophobes. Just cause a boy plays with dolls or takes dance classes...it will not make him gay or mean he is gay.
