People make a big deal when you date outside your race especially blacks for some reason I don't know why please explain to me.

I think it's fine. I think some people are like this b/c their parents are like this. I think it's still slightly a cultural taboo to some extent. I'm very sorry about that. I think it just goes to show who's ignorant and who's not.
Just ignore the jerks and follow your heart.

Traditions. It has nothing to do with racism. Some conservative white families just make a big deal out of dating anyone of different race. The reason for that is genetic. White gene is recessive and if a white person marries black/latino/asian person, the child will most likely not look white. Personally I think that people should date anyone of any race, but it might be a big deal for some families.

Personally, I can't see what all the hoopla is about. I mean, a person is a person. They don't have to please anyone but themselves. If two people fall for each other and they are happy, then as far as I'm concerned...many happy returns!!! If those few who are always griping and complaining about what "others" are doing would mind their business, then they wouldn't have time for anyone else's business. I believe in live and let live. You don't tell them who they can be with and they shouldn't be able to tell you either. I'm sorry to say that we still have ignorant people in this world. They have no idea that NO RACE IS PURE!!!! There have been too much mixing of races/blood ever since man was placed on this earth. Some may show it in their features; some may not. But that doesn't mean that it's not there. Believe me, it's there!!!

Because some people still believe that people of two different races are as different as a cat and a dog, for instance. They still think that blacks and whites are like two different species and that their children's lives will be ruined by lack of identity. Identity should not lie only in what color you are. Being black doesn't make a person naturally enjoy hip hop. Being white doesn't make a person naturally speak proper. Everything about your personality is developed through your environment. Fighting about who's black and who's white seems about as silly, to me, as condemning a red head from dating a blond. At the very root of it, that's all it is. Color. If it were so unnatural, we wouldn't be able to make babies with anyone but our own race. Clearly, we have generations of people who can prove that one wrong.

I think that people get angry because they are ignorant! Race is HUMAN, no matter the pigmentation of your skin!! I am white, and I ONLY date outside of my race, and I have found that I get the most flak from white people. Black people have never seemed to have any prolems with me. I guess it might be different from your point of view, but in my experience, ignorance is ignorance, regardless of pigmentation!

That is a very good question. I have often pondered the same thing. America is full of prejudiced people. But, really we are all just that ... people. We just happen to have different shades of skin.

because racism is something passed from generation to generation. If it was in the family some where, chances are it will continue down the line until a person realizes its wrong.

Why do you want to? Is it a macho thing or do you just want to have what you think you can't have? I am against it but do whatever you want. I have lived close to a similar situation and it really sucks. They have ruined their lives and the childrens. The kids have no idea what ir who they are.

i think uneducated people does such a thing, i mean to me it really doesn't matter who dates who? if you like someone or love someone deeply just go ahead with that, don't care about what people say, just ignore them...
