Well then you don't want to eat the regional speciality which is SPAM. Many of the foods served in Hawaii (local based foods) can be very fatty. Hawaii has a big Asian influence though so go that way with eating a lot of fresh fish, rice, soba noodles, sushi, etc. Stay away from the local diners, that is why many of the locals are HUGE! Pleanty of fresh fish dishes to be found served with other fresh produce so stay along those lines.

We liked the fish taco's and fresh fruit is plentiful. If you like sushi and seafood there are plenty of great resturants. Also, try a little of the native food. As another user said it is the vacation of a lifetime. I will be going back again next year. Bubba Gumps was one of my favorite resturants there.
