Make a chocolate cake using a chocolate cake mix, (I use Betty Crocker) , following the directions on box, only instead of water, use orange juice. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Bake for the time the directions say. Cool for 10 minutes, then turn out boht rounds on a plate, after running a knife around it. Allow to completely cool. Split the rounds into two. Once they're completely cool, fill with a orange marmalade or an orange fililng. Put the rounds together and frost with a home made chocolate frosting, covering the entire cake. Empty spots are don't make cakes presentable. ). Decorate as you wish. I have other great recipes, but they're not as handy.

Jello Cake.

Prepare a white cake from a box or recipe. Let cool.

Pick a random number of instant jello, and prepare them to liquid stage. Place in different bowls or cups.

Place a straw into the liquid jello, cover top with finger. some of the liquid will be trapped in the straw. WIth finger still on top, place staw about 1/4 to 1/2 way through the cake, release the liquid into the cake.

Repeat in random spots using all the flavors, but do not soak the cake.

Place cake in refrigerator long enough to let the jello gel, then frost and enjoy.

My grandmother made it for my 21st birthday, it was great. You can also make the jello colors match a theme if you want.

If you'd like, you can gel the extra jello for yourself, and the party goers can have cake! Enjoy!

One of the 'Better Than Sex Cakes' works.

Get a nice Chocolate cake mix, bake as per directions on box.

Take cake out of oven, let cool for a couple minutes, then take a wooden spoon, poke a bunch of holes in the cake (not all the way through). Take some caramel syrup and pour this all over the cake, being sure to get it into the holes. Let the cake cool, then top with whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup.

One of the easiest cakes I know to make, and it tastes great!

Champagne Cake Recipe courtesy Sandra Lee

Cooking spray
1 box (1-pound 2 1/4-ounce) moist white cake mix
1 1/4 cups extra dry Champagne
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 large egg whites
1 can whipped white frosting
1/4 teaspoon Champagne flavoring
Silver mini disco balls, optional
Silver Dragees, optional, if available in your area
Silver edible glitter, optional

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat the bottom of a 9 by-13-inch cake pan with cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl combine the cake mix, Champagne, vegetable oil, and egg whites. Beat on low speed with an electric mixer until just combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula and continue beating on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Remove it from the oven and cool completely.
Empty the frosting into a small bowl and add the Champagne flavoring. Stir to combine and set aside.
To make the mini-cakes, with a 3-inch ring mold (or use an 8-ounce pineapple can with top and bottom removed) stamp out 6 cakes. Slice the cakes in half, horizontally, to make layers. Frost the bottom layer, replace the top layer and frost the tops and sides of cake. Decorate with the disco balls, Dragees, and glitter, if using.
Cook's notes: Champagne flavoring and edible glitter are available where cake and candy making supplies are sold. Dragees, or silver candy balls, are not available in all states.

How about this - Popcorn Cake. My family used to make it every year as a cake for those of us who didn't like traditional cakes.

1 cup Butter
32 Large Marshmallows
16 cups Popped popcorn
1 cup Small gumdrops (no black)
1 cup Chocolate covered peanuts
1 cup Smarties or other coated chocolate candy

Melt butter and marshmallows in a large heavy pan over low heat. Stir often.
Put popcorn into large container. Pour marshmallow mixture over top. Stir to mix well.
Add remaining ingredients. Mix together. Pack into a greased 10 inch ange food tube pan or 12 cup bundt pan. Let set until cool. Turn out onto plate to serve. Cut into wedges for all different size kids.

Bake your fave flavor cake in 9x13 pan. Poke holes in it with a wooden spoon. Then make instant pudding in a flavor that is good with the cake, but use HALF the milk. Spread it on top instead of frosting!! (examples...choc cake & vanilla pudding....white cake & pistachio pudding...banana cake & cream cheese pudding)
