it depends on what religion you believe in.
if youve seen the movie what dreams may come with robbin williams it has a pretty interesting view of things.
if you're buddhist, then your soul is "recycled" and based on your actions in this life, you'll be placed into a new body to live again accordingly. for example, if you were a good person, you'll get a better life in a rich and loving family. if you're a bad person, you end up being born in a bad family or even as an animal.
if you're christian, then there's the whole thing with purgatory and then heaven or hell.
if you're into the whole greek myth thing, then you'll go down into the underworld and if good, go to elysian fields, but if bad, suffer for eternity.
personally im not sure what happens. i also think that we shouldnt be too concerned with things. if you think too much about what happens after death, you may wind up regretting once u died that u had never really lived....

First the soul is the union of the Spirit and the body. The spirit after death goes to the Spirit World (either Prison or Paradise depending if you accepted the True Gospel of Jesus Christ) Then after the Second coming of Jesus, you will be judged and be sent to one of 4 places The Celestial Kingdom, The Terrestial Kingdom, The Telestial Kingdom, or Outer Darkness.

IT RETURNS TO GOD
Ecc 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
To the foolish ones who say there is no soul, their soul is probably destined to perish and why would you listen to a fool.
Your soul is the intellect of your spirit it's you, the entity that dwells in a flesh body.
Soul is mentioned 537 times in the King James Bible.

Well Einstein has a realtivistic answer. e possited that all energy and matter can neither be created nor destroyed but change from one to the other...therefore since our souls are merely a form of cohesive sentient energy in the form of our material bodies when we die our bodies physical coponents revert to their natural energy state allowing our soul energies to unfetter. Some of us will immediatedly return to the physical state while others of us reside in; for lack of a more appropriate term, a realm of limbo where we review our actions and thoughts while bound to matter and are educated in our errors and prejudgements. Then are shown the way to improve our beings. Still others of us continue on to the next level of existence and become teachers and guides to those who have not yet attained their next stage of existence. I know not many will believe me when I say that I have been through all of that and still made enough mistakes that I was allowed to opportunity to come back down a couple of levels and try to repair the damages I caused to the cosmos.

The soul is not something that leaves our bodies after we die. We as human beings are souls. When we die we go to the grave and are in a state of unconsciousness.

This question depends on your belief system. If you believe in a super-natural being like "God", then you are have a belief system that teaches that your soul goes to "Heaven" or "Hell".
If your belief system doesn't envolve a God-like figure, then you are comforted with the thought that you have lived a life and it is completed.
If you believe in Reencarnation, then you believe that depending on the previous life you have lead, you will Reencarnated.
So, to answer your question, what do you believe?

I think it will sleep for a while. But it will seem like an instant in time. Just like when we sleep deeply, the night passes quickly. Then, we are ressurected. Some to glory, some to shame. So where is your soul when you sleep?

I believe it is possible that Jack is right; there is no soul. What we perceive as our soul is probably just our own subconscious.

Ultimately no one really knows. We're all just going to have to wait until we die to find out.You can believe in whatever you want but you can't be 100% sure.It might be something no one has even thought of!
