What are rules for when your kids have friends over the house? Are there any rules for when the friends parents enter the house?

There should be a room for them to play in and the door should stay open. Depending on how old they are you may need to be in the room during the visit. Bathroom visits are one at a time. No going into the refrigerator or taking any food without asking first. Other than that the same rules that apply to your kids should apply to the friends, such as no hitting, no name calling. Also there should be a time already decided on for the friends to be picked up.

All doors must stay open at all times. This includes the bathroom if 2 kids are in it at the same time. When the parents enter the house the same rules apply. The only other rule I have generally is I don't like surprises. Don't come over unannounced. In other words, generally you can't have friends over w/o notice. I've made exceptions for that when the kids were little.

Other than that the standard rules of behavior in the house apply. Hope that helps.
