I don't have it wrong. I know that God exist. I'm curious as to why "other" people say that God does not exist. I want to hear their logic.

And who gave us this "gift" called "life" if God does not exist?

I for one, refuse to believe the popular concept that we as human beings just "evolved." Do you realize how "complex" and "complicated" we as human beings are? I'm sorry, but that's a rather feable attempt to "deny" God for who and what he is and what he's done.

Leaving behind a legacy in the absence of God is meaningless as well.

"In God We Trust" is inscribed on our American Currency. If you don't believe in God, maybe you move to another country and spend foreign currency?

If God didn't exist, life would be meaningless therefore those who do not believe would not exist also. The real meaning of life for those who believe not is emptiness and loneliness. There only goal is to turn others into them. They believe they are free to think for themselves but yet they surf the web and dictate to others that they are brainwashed. They are a sad group of people.

This is something I have often wondered, but nobody, atheist or agnostic or a----- whatever has ever explained it to me. If there is no God, there is no meaning. Period, end of story. Why would anybody choose a philosophy that makes them ultimately meaningless and unimportant?

If there is no God, it doesn't make any difference whether there is war or crime, or cruelty or kindness. I've often thought, this must be why the Columbine killers did what they did. And they targeted the Christians at their school first, because the Christians had hope and meaning in their lives, and the killers didn't.

They thought they weren't doing anything that was really wrong. But in their resentment or jealousy, they were attacking those who did them no wrong, only prayed for them.

So it is with atheists here. The difference seems to be one of degree of violence and vehemence in their attack, only.

I think God exists and I think that noone on this earth is able to answer that question. Why don't you think God exists??? Have you ever read the Bible, or looked at the world around you??? How would everything be here? The Big Bang? Well who caused the Big Bang? I would look for a youth group, but to answer your question, I don't think that anyone on Earth will be able to answer that question, but Christians would say "to Live For God" and that is my meaning of Life.

It's purely intrinsic to humanity. It is up to the person themselves and those are important to them to determine the purpose they want to follow in life.

There's no external meaning given to you by deities, but a meaning that comes from living with yourself and others in society.

A meaning that is personal to each and every person. It's something that you have to find on your own.

EDIT: No one gave us life. Life simply occured. Every time one speculates a "why is this here?", they must also ask "Is there a why to be found?"

This is where I draw the line for the second question, there is no externally given reason to life, so it's meaning comes from ourselves.

EDIT: Do you have comparative examples to check the standard for life developing in a universe? I'm sorry but hastily drawn probabilities mean nothing without necessity for rarity. That is the fundamental flaw of the Design Argument.

Dang! I don't know of any science experiment to figure that one out!

Hopefully, people will learn that societies progress and technology won't solve the age old questions and thus negate the existence or 'need' for God.

Science can't tell me what is moral. Neither can the fads of our culture that will fade away be forgotten.

Glory to God in the highest.

God doesn't exist and when you die you will not go to heaven. You will cease to exist... EXCEPT in the memories of your family and friends and acquaintances. So the meaning of your life is what you make of it while you are alive. And the legacy you leave behind for the rest of us.

Why does somebody have to give us life? Why is it so hard for the idea of life evolving to root in your brain? The real meaning of life? Live happily, there's only a short while until it's over, so make the most of that little time.

Life's drive is to create more life, in as many different variations as possible within the parameters of this physical universe. Death is a tool in the process of creating a wider variety of that life.

That's the "real" meaning. Why should we need to believe in any other?

Interesting question. In my humble opinion, we are basically evolved apes, and the "meaning" of life is to continue to dominate the planet. Of course, we're big idiots and are ruining the world by using too many fossil fuels, so we'll probably regress to our previous ape-like state soon.

The meaning of life is you and the stuff you go through..the good the bad and the ugly...if you get passed all the stuff you go through it will make you stronger and better than you were before all the problems and "Life" as you call it
