If you are talking about a third party injury claim expect no less than 1 month. Third party means you are collecting from the other person's insurance company, not yours. My suggestion is to contact your lawyer's office on a weekly basis and inquire if he/she has heard from the insurance company yet. You have heard of the squeaky wheel getting greased, well by you reminding your attorney to get involved he will in turn contact the adjuster at the insurance company to expedite the claim. Most states have a specific amount of time for the insurance company to make an offer of settlement once the claim has been filed. Make sure your lawyer informs you of this. Other than that be patient as an eager person usually settles for less than a claim that is allowed to run it's course. If your medical bills aren't paid by your Medpay coverage then you will have to make small monthly payments until the claim is settled. Good luck!

They may offer you less. If you are willing and they are willing to settle on the offer it may take a month to 3 months after settlement has been agreed upon.

It just depends on how much you settle for and how long you want to persue it. I would take them for all they are willing to give and continue to persue it.
