My guess is because they are extremely left-brained creatures and usually very work-oriented, which is a characteristic of left-brained people as well. The left side of your brain controls more of the right side of the body, and the right side of the brain controls more of the left side of the body. So if their left side of their brain is dominant, getting intoxicated would affect the right side of their body first, and so that side would experience impairment and loss of balance first. Hence, they would fall on the right side. However, I do not know how to conduct an experiment of this sort with ants to prove my hypothesis. Do you know someone who sells teeny weeny shot glasses? Help me out here.

If they fall to the left thenthe rest of the ants following them would never get out of the traffic jam that would cause.
