While the legal drinking age is 21 in all states, the legal details vary. Some states do not allow those under the legal drinking age to be present in liquor stores or in bars (usually, the difference between a bar and a restaurant is whether food is being served).
Contrary to popular belief, few states specifically prohibit minors' consumption of alcohol in private settings.
The reasons to not provide alcohol are many. First, alcohol consumption for any youth under the age of 21 is illegal in the United States.
The only exception to this in Minnesota,
for instance, is that a youth may consume alcohol in the home with a parents permission. Laws vary by state, but in Minnesota,
providing alcohol to minors is a gross misdemeanor punishable by a $3,000 fine and/or up to one year in prison. A civil suit for damages may result in "parents losing everything they own," added Provine.

No you can't drink alcohol legally if you are under 21 in all 50 United States. It doesn't matter who gives you permission. Technically, even your own parents can get into trouble. And there's not an exception to the rule for religious purposes either. There is a difference between a sip of a drink versus a whole glass, though. I imagine you're talking about alcohol at a party which is a definite no-no.

It depends on your state. In Most states if you are with your parents you can drink... at resturants your parents can order alcohol for you but that resturant has the right to refuse to serve you also. (they do this alot in college towns were people all coming in saying i'm so and so's parent and they are not) Here's a bit of info about Minnesota I hope it has the info you need :D Just be smart! Don't go sneaking around about it and don't think that drinking to get drunk is the point.. Drinking is much more enjoyable when you like the TASTE of what you are drinking and you don't get blasted.

Yes, in the sense that the police need probable cause to come onto your parents property. But if a neighbor or someone sees you drinking they might call the police and that phone call would constitute probable cause.
And if your consumption of alcohol was turning into a problem your parents could be arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Bad parents can have their children taken from them, which is certainly part of the reason most parents wouldn't dream of what you suggest. But we hear all the time about parents allowing kids to drink at a party at their house. It is a good way to end up in jail for 6 months.

No. Actually the person providing the alcohol can be arrested and sent to jail. If anyone under age leaves the party and gets in an accident, the owner of the property as well as the person who provided the alcohol are liable for all damages and also open to a civil suit.

Yes, if you are on private property. You are not allowed to purchase alcohol or drink it in public. I work in bars and have to take a course once a year given by the California Alcohol and Beverage Commission, and this is how I know.
As a minor, I was also given a sip of wine during Sunday Mass.

Yes, in Wisconsin you can drink with your parents in your home, a bar or a restaurant. There is no age limit as to how young you are. The alcohol must be handed to the parent and the parent in turn hands it to the minor. Your parents must be present. They are then responsible for you until you're sober. Another interesting fact, in Wisconsin if your married and under the age of 21 and your spouse is 21 or older, you can drink in a bar with your spouse as he or she is then your legal guardian. Bars and restaurants have the right to refuse to serve a minor if they choose to. Most bars I know of choose not to serve until 18.

Parents are only allowed to give permission to their OWN children on their own property. And I can pretty much guarantee they'll get thrown in jail if they get caught allowing it to excess.
It has to be legal because so many religions use alcohol during rituals (bris, sabbath prayers, etc.)
