We are all at a party and a guy starts flirting with me, and i flirt back. But as soon as i tell them that i have a boyfriend, why do they back off so quickly and its like they dont see me anymore. why is that?

Think, discovery channel. A guy is at a party or bar "scouting" potential prey. Guy's are very primal. You say you're taken, they are on to the next prey. Simple! lol. Sometimes you will find a special one that is okay being friends.

The reason guys talk to girls at a party is because they thing they have a chance. Don't end the conversation with the fact that you have a boyfriend. Make it apparent in the beginning. Chances are that you aren't being forward about the fact that you have a boyfriend so when you drop the bomb later they feel betrayed and don't feel any need to continue with the conversation. Why are you flirting back? If you were really secure in your current relationship then you would be able to converse without the element of flirtation. You flirting back tells the guy that you are interested and the fact that you aren't gives a false sense of hope for them that's why they back off. No guy wants to get into the drama of having to deal with the boyfriend that's why they are so avasive later on.

They flirt with you because they wanted to get to know you, and then when you mention the fact that you have a boyfriend, whats the need into flirting again? Plus, why are you flirting if you have a boyfriend?! SHAME SHAME SHAME!

Because you are spoken for, so they don't want to get involved. Once you mention a boyfriend you are someone Else's property. You will get the odd guy that won't be put off and will pursue you. They are the ones that get hurt or end up hurting someone.

You might as well look at them and say "go *%$# yourself"!!
You are telling them that you are already "taken" so why would they waste their time on a girl that is "already taken". That really is a stupid question if you think about it.

for me i tell a boy i go with someone they still try to talk to me anyways and keep trying saying what he got to do with me.maybe the boy no your boy friend prombly
