The bible says in the book of Acts that you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses...( Acts 1:8 kjv) So therefore it is definitely a force or power that can cause a person to overcome anything that he may in his life but the jehovah witness definitely have a twisted view of doctrines. You need to study the scripture. The bible says to study to show thyself approved unto God...rightly dividing the word of truth(II Timothy 2:15 kjv) .
Jesus Christ was the father , son , and holy spirit.
I and the Father are one ( John 10:30 kjv )
1 John 5:7 kjv
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
KJV- The Father and the Holy Ghost are one
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
KJV
John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
KJV
In seeing this, the word was Jesus Christ in the flesh
The great commission states to go ye into all the world baptizing in the NAME of the father, the son , and Holy Spirit. Who is the name of the father JESUS, who is the name of the son JESUS, Who is the name of the Holy Spirit JESUS.
Acts 2:38 says that we must repent, be baptized EVERYONE OF YOU in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost because it is a promise!
In other words you can have it, because it is a promise to you.
It's a great priviledge to share this great news and I hope it has helped you. If you need anything contact me.

He is a spirit, not a person of flesh and bone. This is what my Bible dictionary says:
The third member of the Godhead and, as the name implies, a personage of Spirit, not possessing a body of flesh and bones (D&C 130: 21-22). The Holy Ghost is manifested in every dispensation of the gospel since the beginning, being first made known to Adam (1 Ne. 10: 17-22; Moses 6: 51-68). The Holy Ghost is manifested to men on the earth both as the power of the Holy Ghost and as the gift of the Holy Ghost. The power can come upon one before baptism, and is the convincing witness that the gospel is true. It gives one a testimony of Jesus Christ and of his work and the work of his servants upon the earth. The gift can come only after proper and authorized baptism, and is conferred by the laying on of hands, as in Acts 8: 12-25 and Moroni 2: 1-3. The gift of the Holy Ghost is the right to have, whenever one is worthy, the companionship of the Holy Ghost. More powerful than that which is available before baptism, it acts as a cleansing agent to purify a person and sanctify him from all sin. Thus it is often spoken of as “fire” (Matt. 3: 11; 2 Ne. 31: 17; D&C 19: 31). The manifestation on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) was the gift of the Holy Ghost that came upon the Twelve, without which they were not ready for their ministries to the world.

Brother, who says that the 3 things that define a person are intellect, emotion and a will?
And who says that GOD should be defined as a "person" (just like any other human?).
GOD has no body, no mind, no heart. No head. Even a "god-head". Personally, I think these arguments over terminology and which version of The Bible to use are petty and divisive.
GOD IS ONE. He has three parts (the trinity) -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The are all equal, they are all God. Son is identified as Jesus -- the part of God that lived as a human. When Jesus died (returned to Heaven), he sent the Holy Spirit (the Comforter) to his disciples, which they experienced as tongues of flame.
Based on passages in The Bible, I believe the Holy Spirit is the part of God that resides in every Christian today -- our conscience, if you will, that guides us along the right path. Does that make the Holy Spirit "less God" than that part of God that was born as a human? So what if someone else calls the Holy Spirit the "active force" of God? I don't consider that a "just" -- I think that's a pretty important part of being God !
It serves Satan's purpose when petty squabbles like this divide God's Children. I pray that you and your cousin don't allow silly things like this to overshadow all of the commonalities of your beliefs, and your relationship(s) with God.

If you understand the Trinity in Christianity, then you should know the answer. The Trinity consists of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, which makes up the Christian "God", a figurehead three in one. In my opinion, the Holy Spirit is a thier person on the Godhead and a spiritual force. J. Witnesses are whacked up, seriously, they visit my house every year and try to brainwash me. They even have a different Bible or understanding of the Bible, if you examine if closely, than other Christian sects.

The spirit of god leads and influences us. If you say, "Holy Spirit," then you are talking about polytheism(three gods in one),
not monotheism. The idea of god being "trinity" came about at the Council of Nicea, in 325 A.D., when Constantine forced Christians to come up with a common creed. Before that, people could be "seekers" of truth. After the Council, people had to be "believers." People who didn't buy this Creed, and continued to think for themselves were ripped apart by the "believers." Perhaps not physically, but in other ways, the "believers" continue to rip apart and discredit people who don't agree with them. Where have you seen the "love of Jesus" demonstrated, recently?

He's one of the Godhead. You need to stay away from Jehovah Witnesses and their Perverted Bible. Read the Holy Bible for yourself, and make a note of John 14:6
JW's deny the diety of Jesus. (See I John 2:22) They are one of the groups of False Witnesses, spoken of in the Bible, who will mislead others especially in these last days. They will completely confuse you.

My understanding of the Holy Spirit is that he is the third part of the Holy Trinity, God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit being that spirit that fills us with the spirit of the Devine and guidance.

what scripture are u looking at? jw's use more than one bible, thats the main one though because it's easier to understand, are u looking at james 1? well first of all king james is just a version while the new world is a translation, a version doesn't necessarily mean it's the truth, ie. his version of the story, here version of the story. so our bibles is directly translated into modern english that's all, a version is someones personal opinion or rendering of something, and thats not jw talk that's common sense, try the NIV bible, that's easy also

Third person of the trinity. Read 1 John 5:7..... The "word" is Jesus Christ. John mentions Christ many times as the word. You won't find this in too many translations or versions, but I know it's in the King James Version.
