The way I see it, it take a Real man to be a father. Yours obviously isn't (or wasn't). You make it sound like being raised by a woman is a bad thing. I hope that's not what you're implying otherwise you will have a lot of pissed off women out there!

I have no clue, but you have a responsibility to make sure it doesn't happen to your son. The day Dr. King was traumatic. I lived in Memphis then and it is impossible to tell you how difficult a time that way.

Make sure you are a MAN. Take good care of your wife and your children. Your father has to live with his transgressions. Unfortunately, you have to live with his poor decision. I'm sure your mother is an amazing woman to have raised an insiteful son.

Hopefully you were raised by a wonderful women who loved you, and took her responsibilty as a parent as a honor not a burden. I am sorry you have to live with the fact that he left. But remember your past doesn't define who you are, did/does he deserve the energy that it takes to think about it?

Thats harsh that he left you... but theres nothing wrong with being raised by a woman, lots of lil boys are raised by mom and not dad... hell some moms make better dads than dads do...

Not a manhood thing, just one of responsibility. Please don't knock being raised by a woman. Some moms make the best dads. And vice versa. It's all in the heart.

Is your Dad MLK? If so, i don't think he had a choice. I hear rumors he knew he was going to die on that balcony. but let's be serious.

otherwise, I have no idea why MLK Day and yor dad departing would be connected.

Some people just don't know how to be parents, don't take it personally. Track him down and tell him how it affected your life by him leaving, if it bothers you
