I think it is a good thing.
Some Catholics repeat the words in Mass without thinking about them. This will force all of us to concentrate on what they mean.
With love in Christ.

I only heard about the upcoming changes this past week and I'm not up on the details. I ,for one, wish we would return to the actual Latin Mass but I am a product of 1950s/1960s Catholic schools. My neighborhood parish doesn't even offer one. Have to go downtown to The Cathedral @ 10:00 AM Sundays for the only one I am aware of nearby. Anyway, I intend to read up on these changes this weekend. I've got eight minutes to get to 5:30 PM Mass now!

I think that some are good and others I don't like so much. As long as the meaning of the Mass doesn't change. . .

As a liturgist, I'm excited to see the list of the changes. I'm hoping they will spark discussion about WHAT it is we are saying. I do think it's going to be a hard change for some people, especially if they don't have someone in their parish who can give a good, patient explanation to the changes. I feel bad for priests whose ministry isn't as much in the teaching sphere - they're going to have quite a job ahead of them.

I grew up Catholic. Personally, I never saw the point of reciting the same mass everytime (sans sermon). I think it should never be the same.
