The brighter the color the better. Darker colors tend to bring down the room a bit, both in lighting and in mood. Trust me. I had to convince my mother to redo the kitchen because the walls were way too dark and the cabinetry was way too dark (like the kitchen was burnt and we just so decided to continue living in it!). It was sooo dark, even with bright sun coming through...Now we have painted the walls a friendly peach/pink that complements and accents the walnut finish of our new cabinetry! My mother is sooo grateful for the change...As for the lighting, the room has brightened up 100% and I don't feel depressed as I'm eating my breakfast or anything else for that matter! In fact, I spend most of my time using my computer in the kitchen because of the brightness, even when at night!...If this gives you any indication on how to go with painting your study room, thumbs up!

PS. > And if you're considering "Studying", well, you don't want to fall asleep on account of bad lighting/dark room.

Go with something that is quiet and peasful. So you wont feel like running from the roo everytime you want to study. Earth tones usually work great, browns and greys that are muted.

White I think is the basic and best color as it creates a light and creative ambiance for those in the room.

I say something not bright, bold, and vibrant. those colors may be a distraction when doing work. i say something simple maybe a tan, beige, light brown, so they can have the cozy relaxed feeling instead of the high energy feeling. or stripes use white stripes so it doesn't seem so simple check ya later ♥
