Trying to be completely unbiased ( I have been pondering God's existence as well as the notion that it doesn't exist.) I believe that many strong religious followers are blinded to many different opinions that question their faith. Such as evolution. A devout follower I know pointed out that if evolution occured, and we came from apes, why are there still apes. Are there humans that live in trees? NO. Are there humans that live in the exact same jungle settings. NO. That is why we remain different. Also, evolution is a process, as can be seen from the models of Homo Sapien from Homo Erectus, and so on down the line. It is a gradual process. Did "God" create homo erectus? NO. Supposedly he created man, homo sapien. Where did homo erectus come from then, if we aren't an evolution of them. The same type of thought occurs with the whole big bang theory. Many strong believers cannot fathom the big bang, as they say it was just a ball of matter, that exploded and created everything.

They do not listen to the part about the bonding/binding of atoms and molecules, such as our sun, a bonding of Hydrogen and Helium. Which also ties in to evolution. I personally believe that if there is a god, we are all just his little marionettes, which he watches like we would watch television, or more appropriately like a hamster on a wheel. And if there is no God, I personally believe that the universe is, was, and always will exist, forever changing. Is it not possible that time itself is our God, as it is the only thing that will last forever unchanged, and we only have so much of for ourselves. It sees everything, from worlds being created, to galaxies colliding. Sorry to run on for so long, but yeah.

You make a good argument and touch on some interesting points I've never considered before. I agree, however, with basically everything you mentioned.

I guess the only thing anyone who isn't blinded (just my opinion, and yours lol) by religion, can say is: Nobody will ever know. Or, at least they don't yet. :) It's not something anybody can prove - religion OR evolution, considering they both go hand-in-hand.

I consider myself a devout Christian, and I believe firmly in both the Big Bang and evolution. I also believe that the Bible is not always meant to be taken literally. For those who disagree, I feel the need to cite the passage, 'rend your hearts and not your garments' (Go on, do it!). The creation story is meant to illustrate a point, not to give a detailed description of how the world was formed. The point is essentially that 1) God is powerful. 2) God is responsible for the creation of the universe. 3) Humans were made special, in God's image, and with free will. Why could this not be done through the Big Bang and evolution? Where did the matter come from? Why did it explode? How come we're the only truly sensient beings on the planet? Perhaps when God bagan the universe he had homo sapiens in mind. I don't know. As Galileo said, however, 'I do not feel compelled to believe that the same God who endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect intended us to forego their use.' When I see convincing scientific (or religious) evidence, I cannot blindly ignore it, but rather I feel compelled to accept it and make sense of it.

If Christians came from Judism...why are there still Jews?

A better way to look at evolution is with a clean slate...no preconceived ideas of creation. Then, take an anthropology course and hold casts of 10 skulls that morph from ape to man, in chronological order. While that doesn't PROVE evolution, it's the best theory with the evidence that we have.

The universe has been tracked down to about 500,000 years after the "big bang". It seems to indicate that everything was in one spot long ago. Does this in any way PROVE a big bang? Not even close...but its the best theory with the information we have.

So (everybody) STOP taking a biased point of view and ignore everything else. Look at what we have...skulls that range from ape to man, what is the most likely explanation? A universe that SEEMS to emerge from a single point, what is the most likely explanation?

Do you realize that about half the scientist do not believe evolution could happen? Most don't believe in the big bang. Look at where scientist are working to understand origins. They use modeling, it seems not to favor evolution right now- many scientist are looking for alternatives. But big bang and evolution are looking weak. Get current with your science.

Bible is "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4, and notably "mystery" (noted over 20 times in NT) to solve.

As for God, the real God is notably "excepted"(exempt).
The "God" in Genesis & Hebrews, is a divided plural God,
notably a "Majesty" on "high", in plural & divided "heavens".
The "only true God" is "higher": "higher than the heavens".
The "only wise God" speaks of immortal "Grace" as King.

For even God can't be "one" by "division", rather by "unity".

As for creation, many miss it's both "created" and "made",
both firstly "in our image" and lastly "after our likeness",
as a before/after "shew" of such imperfect/perfect things,
such as the two "one man" scenarios compared in Rom 5.
And what's "made" is made perfect by "the God of all grace";
else what's "made" is one proselyte: "more the child of hell".

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I believe in evolution, although I'm religious. I believe that in a way, we "create" what our next incarnation will be like by our actions in this life.
