Chickens learned long ago that it is a good deal to exchange eggs for a life of leisure and easy food. To them it is just a sensible business transaction. The same way that we exchange our labor for money instead of relaxing and enjoying life.

not normally. in the wild, without human interference, bird eggs are a good treat for any predator. so...birds of all kinds have adapted to deal with the loss of their young. usually they may be sad for a day or a few minutes, but thats it..they are adapted to deal with it...if they didnt, there would be depressed birds all over the world.

animals have no moral. puppies know if they are taken away from their parents because they met their own parents. Birds never met their babies just only their egg shell so they probably dont know what happened to them when they are taken away.
