Robbie Burns was born on Jan 25, in Ayreshire, Scotland, but later moved to Glasgow, where he lived with his wife. Jan 25 is recognized in Scotland (and many parts of the British Empire) as Burns' Day, and there are mighty celebrations, complete with Scotch whiskey and various kilt-clad gents taking a run at giving Burns' immortal "Address to a Haggis"
Even if you can't toss a caber, it's still fun to celebrate Burns' Day.
