Makes sense to me. I firmly believe that if they understood what they were missing, then they would want it.

This I believe; http://homelessheart.com/testimony.htm

i would say that statement is not true at all..at least not universally true. Ther are all kinds of non-believers. there are those who follow other paths and therefore do not believe because it is a conflict. There are those who just find the notion silly. There are those who fee lthey have made an informed decisions on what they feel are reasonable conclusions even after they have studied what christianity stands for. part of the problem with this question is that all christians have differences in what they stand for. eastern Orthodox, southern baptists, seventh day adventists and jehovah witnesses hardly stand for the same thing. it is only natural that the things they are against stick out more because those are wha tgrab the headlines.

I know what it stands for like living a moral code, treating people as u would like to be treated ur self, helping people, loving ur nieghbour, respecting people etc. Which I do anyway or at least try as I believe in doing these things to. None believers don't have a problem with those things either, it is other things to do with religion they don't like. It still bothers me though that good kind hearted moral atheist or, agnostic, or different religion apparently would be sent to Hell just for not believing. I asked a question would a kind hearted non believer go to Hell? Even if they were sorry for all there sins, and apparently they would still get chucked in to the lake of fire. Maybe someone can explain to me how that makes sense?

Yeah, for the most part. It has become apparent that Christianity and other religions stand against non-believers. As for what it stands for? It means different things to different people. Hence the constant wars between religious sects.

I have read the New Testament, and have talked to many Christians of various types. The goal of 'loving your neighbor' is a good one which I respect. Other than that, Christianity just seems like an insane fairy tale. Much of what 'good Christians' believe has very little to do with what the Bible actually says.

I do know what Christianity stands for...I've been a Catholic and a Christian. I innoculated myself against Chatholicism due to the chaos with the priests and our children. I innoculated myslef against Christianity because Christians themselves seem a bit confused about their own religion.

Jesus was a revolutionary in his time and when he finds his way back I believe the surprised ones will be yourselves.

Jesus was all for love and acceptance. NOT for judgement. That will come in due time, meanwhile we must not worry ourselves about abortion or gays...that's why God created FREE WILL right? We must concern ourselves with LOVING OUR NEIGHBOR AS WE LOVE OURSELVES. Love, love, love...laissez faire.

Just leave people alone and don't persecute others based on their beliefs or way of life. That is hipocritical because after all, Christians know what it's like to be persecuted.

Trust me, we know what you "stand" for. It is not your message that troubles us. It is the attitudes and behaviors that you embrace that is the issue.

Most Christians are not content to turn the other cheek and very few believe that any given sin is as black as any other. Christians have become a warlike group of hate-mongers and most have lost touch with the softer, gentler messages that they claim to hold so close to their hearts.

Remember, what someone stands for is rarely important. If a man "stands" for freedom and liberty, yet keeps his fellow men in chains, he might as well not stand for anything at all.

There's two ways to understand and know Christianity. One way is through intellect. The other way is through the Spirit. Men can only understand the things of man, but the things of Spirit are foolish to them because they do not have the Spirit. I've met some extremely bright people that know more about the bible than I do and still they are unbelieving. God cannot be known through intellect; only through by possessing the Holy Spirit can we come to an acknowledgment and realization of God, which is important when having a true relationship with Him.

No, most of the ones I know have at least some idea of what Christianity stands for. They just don't want any part of anything as inconvenient as repentance, obedience, morality, truth, or the righteousness of God. They'll take a double order of forgiveness, though; they don't seem to have any problem with that part.

They don't care what Christianity stands for and not care enough to know or understand. All they see is this questionable bible acts but doesn't care enough to pay attention or know the reasons why. They can not grasp God because they chose not to and back up that reasoning with bad happenings around the world. They focus only on the acts, not the reason behind it.
...thats limited minded to me.

i know what it stands for, i was a part of it for a long time.
it just wasn't for me. i saw, experienced, and i didn't like it.
don't misunderstand, i wasn't against the basic tenants, i do think we should respect each other and forget about material possessions because they can all be taken away at a moments notice, and other such things. i just didn't like the fact that i had to take everything on faith. i'm convinced people can be good by simply thinking about their morality. also, i think god isn't real.
many non believers used to be christians themselves, or at least are very interested in christianity as a religion.

there are always the idiots though.........but don't listen to them please, they insult the real atheists.
