There are three levels of Holy Orders, Deacon, Priest, and Bishop.

Bishops are the Apostles of today. Each one leads a diocese. Special types of bishop are archbishop, cardinal, and pope (who leads the whole Church).

Priests are co-workers of the bishops and can lead a parish. A special title for a priest is monsignor.

Deacons assist the bishop and priests in the celebration of the Eucharist, in the distribution of Holy Communion, in assisting at and blessing marriages, in the proclamation of the Gospel and preaching, in presiding over funerals, and in dedicating themselves to the various ministries of charity.

With love in Christ.

Pope, Bishop, Priest, Deacon. of course the Pope and the Bishops are Priests. You may have heard the term Archbishop, An Archbishop is in charge of major Dioceses such as Galveston-Houston, San Antonio, New York, LA, Paris, London etc. Archbishops can also be in charge of a major Vatican department. Cardinals are appointed by the Pope to serve in the College Of Cardinals. They are head of the very major Dioceses in the World, and Vatican Departments. Most Cardinals are Bishops but their are some call Avery Cardinal Dulles SJ who was named for his lifetime of service to the Church through his writings.

I'll be guessing, but it goes something like this:

Church Clergy:
Pope <== Cardinal <== Archbishop <== Bishop <== Priest <== Brother/Frater/Friar <== Seminarian <== Sacristan/Acolyte... <==designated ministries of each parish church...

In a monastery for Monks:
Abbott <== Monk <== Friar/Brother <== Novice/Seminarian...

In a convent for Nuns:
Mother Superior <== Sisters/Nuns <== Novice/...

I think.
