Short sleeves are okay in almost all of Turkey. Turkey is much less restrictive than their neighbors on things like this. I was in far southeastern Turkey for 2 weeks last summer, and never had any problem. Most of the time the locals were in short sleeves, and the ones who weren't didn't seem to mind. Word of advice though: Wear long sleeve shirts and just roll up the sleeves. That way if anyone is offended, just roll 'em down. PLUS at higher elevations and along the coast the evenings can actually get chilly. Hakkari was well over 100F during the day, but it was in the 70s at night.

Yes of course ... there are many tourists in Marmaris ... and also the inhabitants are very tolerant in clothing issues.
But you shouldn´t visit a mosque or something like that with short sleeves!

yes no problem as well as shorts its a must you will be the same as 90% of the rest of the Turks. turkey in the west of the country IE marmaris.bodrum etc are very modern i live in Izmir turkey have a great holiday

No it is not :-)) The sun is so high and you can have sun burn if you go around with short sleeves.
