Believe me, your parents WILL find out, they just do. Why don't you try to come up with some reasons WHY they should allow you to have it done? I can understand why they wouldn't have wanted you to get it at 13, but you're a little older now, hopefully a little more mature, you're responsible enough to drive a car (I'm assuming, anyway), so maybe now is the time.
I don't think you should run the risk of not telling your parents. First of all, like I said, parents just have a way of finding out, and you will lose A LOT of their trust and confidence in you for going behind their backs. Second of all, with any piercing, especially in a place like the belly, you need to be carefull of infection. What are you going to do if you get a roaring infection? You would have to tell them because you'd have to get it treated.
You ought to think about whether a belly piercing is really worth losing your parents' confidence in you... talk to them first! Maybe if you pay for it, if you let your mom go with you to have it done, some kind of compromise. Your parents sound like decent folks who want to take care of you... talk to them first! And good luck!

I don't think you should get one yet. You should wait until you are older.....like an adult that doesn't need to ask her parents for permission. You can choose and do more things when you are an adult. I had a friend who was 50 years old who recently got a belly ring. It got infected and she had to pour alcohol on it for several weeks and it stung like crazy. If you still think getting one is a good idea, ask your parents for their reasons for not wanting you to get one. Maybe they know worse things that could happen to you if you get a piercing. Besides, the store that doesn't need or want your parents permission, may not be the cleanest or use the cleanest needles to do the piercings. That would not be the healthy way to have this professionally done. You could contract something worse like AIDS!!! Your parents were right to say No Way!!

I got mine at age 18. I had a ring in until I was 22. That's when the ring broke inside of me. I had to have it surgically removed. Now that my husband and I are thinking about babies, I wonder how ridiculous my navel will look when it pops out and has a hole in it. I would advise against the belly button piercing.

Trust me they will find out.
Wait till your 18.
If you still want it then , then go for it.
I think it looks silly personally, and if the store will do it w/o permission from parents, I would question if that is the place to really get it done.

NO! Take care of your body! You only have one so don't take chances with it ! Your body is something special -- protect it -- and don't share it with others! You are a special person put on this earth for a special reason -- no one else can take your place! Respect yourself and others will respect you!

You really should see what an infected belly button looks like. It is gross, don't do it.
