The treatment for Vitiligo is based on regenerating the melanocytes in the skin, this is accomplished using Psoralens and Ultra Violet light A. If the Vitiligo is very extensive, it's easier just to decolorate the rest of the body with a substance called Hydroquinone (what Michael Jackson "didn't" use).
There is a hereditary factor, but it's multifactorial
