Shirley Temple cocktail
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Shirley Temple is a non-alcoholic cocktail made with lemon-lime soda and grenadine syrup, garnished with a maraschino cherry and slice of lemon or orange. It is often served to children dining with elders to let them share the experience of drinking a cocktail, which is why it is sometimes called a kiddie cocktail.

The drink was invented by a bartender at Chasen's restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA. It was named for the famous child actress Shirley Temple, who often visited the restaurant.

Later, the popular beverage became available bottled in supermarkets as the first cherry soda to include an actual cherry.

Variations

Ginger ale, club soda or orange juice can be substituted for lemon-lime soda. The basic recipe involves a ratio of 8 oz soda to 1 oz grenadine.

It can also contain one part lemon-lime soda, one part orange juice, and a small splash of grenadine

Alcoholic variations on the recipe exist, called "Shirley Temple Black" and "Dirty Shirley".

Shirley Temple Recipe For Kids

I make them all the time and have never seen one with alcohol, but I bet it would be good. For the Shirley Temple, I use about 1 1/2 cups 7-up or sprite and a few tablespoons of the juice that comes with maraschino cherries (sometimes you can find just the maraschino cherry juice). I rarely measure the ingredients, just add enough of the maraschino cherry juice to turn the drink a medium pink color. I also like to pop a couple of the cherries in the cup so it looks more like a mixed drink.

A Shirley Temple is:

- 1 glass(es) Ginger Ale
- 1 dash(es) Grenadine (cherry flavoring)

So anyone could drink a Shirley Temple as it is not alcoholic. But, as with most Americans, we should avoid a diet high in sugar or corn syrup to prevent diabetes and obesity.

A Shirely Temple is Sprite or 7-Up with a little bit of Grenadine (a non-alcoholic drink) or cherry juice in it, then a cherry thrown in to make it look "grown up".

So if you let your kids have sugar, this would be ok.

A Shirley Temple is a Sprite or 7-Up, usually with a cherry.

No reason for a child not to drink it.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://biturl.im/aU4iy

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Shirley Temples are non-alcoholic drinks made specifically for kids. It gives them that grown-up feel without the punch. They were named for that perennial child star from the 30's who then became a Congress person.

Yes, but it'll hyper them up. A Shirley Temple is lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-up) and grenadine (a red sugary syrup).
