This is not true: red meat-red wine, white meat-white wine
Go with your instincts my young Padawan ... feel the force.... Go with a mild merlot or pinot noir, if feeling for a Cabernet Sauvignon, it is also welcome. If the day is too hot and humid, a Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio will also do it...

You should drink what you like.
Personally, I'd go with an American red Zinfandel (not the pink kind. I don't recommend drinking any kind of pink wine).

I think a delicate white such as Pinot Grigio should do the trick ;-)
