The USA has no embassy in Iran. We broke off relations with this country when the Shaw was overthrown in 1979 and they took over our embassy and held hostages until Ronald Reagan
was inaugurated on Jan. 20 1981 and the hostages were released.
Since, then we have had to deal with third party's to speak with
Iran. Today in 2006 Pres. Bush has offered direct talks with Iran
under certain conditions IE stop enrichment etc.
