Thanks guys...more info. She started giving birth at 2am...went under the bed had one. Hasn't left there, I have even removed the matress and box springs and she is content. No straining or contractions. The vet said to watch her, but he thinks she is done. This is her second litter...it was a suprise. I do believe she only mated once...

An average litter of kittens could vary from 1- 8 or even more. Most likely if she gave birth to only one, it could be due to her being young.

cats normally have 3 or 4 kittens at a time, but it's ok for her to only have one
if u r still worried take her to a vet 2 make sure there isn't any dead kittens still inside her

p.s. take good care of that one kitten! she'll be good luck!

It is possible for her to have just one. It is also possible she has just had her first,or if you have not had her confined to an area during the entire birthing process that she has had kittens elsewhere.
When I was younger our cat had two in the garage and two under our porch before we found her.

the cat and kitten should be OK, sometimes a cat or a dog will only give birth to one.

Take her to a vet. There may be dead kittens inside her that she has not delivered. It is best to be safe that sorry.
