Just to point out that the Jews and Mormons are not Christians. The Jews are still looking for the Messiah. (which Christians believe Jesus was). and the Mormons they are just a Little loony they believe that they themselves can become gods. (another fundamental Christan belief God is God Almighty the only one) Catholics, protestants, and Baptist. all believe in God almighty, Jesus was the messiah and that he rose again on the third day to give power to our forgiveness. true we do hold different beliefs on the exact way we should live our lives but we all know that we are to follow God's call in our lives and trust in God. we all have a personal relationship with God. I count all denominations of Christians as my brothers and sisters in Christ. Those are my thoughts. thanks for placing this question on the site.

Catholic- Christian (believe truth came from Jesus to Peter to.... present Pope)

Protestant- Christian (broke off from Catholic)

Baptist- Christian (one of the Protestants)

Mormon- Christian (believe that Catholics lost part of the truth, "full story" was restored through "modern revelation")

Jew- not Christian- they don't accept Jesus as the Messiah, Savior, etc. Christianity minus Jesus and New Testament... My own opinion on Judaism- If Jews really understood their religion (writings of Abraham, Moses, etc) they'd see that all the Old Testament writers were prophesying of Jesus. I think the Jews of the New Testament should have realized who He was/is.

Maybe so, except that the chronology is something like this:

First, there was Judaism, which after 3000 years spawned Christianity, which after 1200 years spread out to tens of thousands of Protestant denominations that we know today...

JUDAISM remains its own DISTINCT religion whose canon law is based solely on the sacred scriptures of the Old Testament as they continue to await for their Messiah up to now.

And 500 years after Christianity began, there arose Islam that traces its roots back to Abraham...

Today there are two main 'versions' of so-called "Christianity": one is essentially based on the ORIGINAL teachings of Jesus Christ; and the other is BASED ON the "Pauline" doctrines propagated by Saul/Paul in the NT of the Holy Bible.

Go figure.

Peace be with you!

I am Mormon, and yeah, I think most of the religions are all the same. Of course, we believe we have the whole truth gospel and that all others have parts and pieces of it and not the whole thing. So maybe that is what makes us a little different.

I would like to point out different4... Mormons ARE Christians - Christ is the very center of our church! We do believe God is God, he is the only one we worship. We believe we can become like him not BE him.

Pretty much. All it takes to create another Christian denomination is to declare yourself to be a pastor, get a group of people together and start a church.

If you want to find out which denomination is the true denomination, study the history of Christianity. Christian history clearly shows which denomination is the church that Jesus personally created.

I'm Catholic, and being a Catholic IS Christian actually. Catholic means "universal" meaning a universal Christian church designed to accept everyone. We are Christian, and I think some people don't even realize that!

I say they're all nuts. Any person who follows a religion based on a book written by man (when in the book it says man is flawed) is nuts.
