According to gnostic gospels, it claims that the creator of the world is evil and that's why there are many evil in the world.

So would that mean that God the Heavenly father is not the maker of creation?

Wouldn't that overthrow the Old Testament?

Then who is the God that we should turn to; other than Jesus?

You have figuted it out. Christian Gnostics believe that the God of the Old Testament is not the supreme being, but he is a lesser deity who actually does not know he is not the supreme being. So, many early Christian Gnostics through out the Old Testament entirely. As a result, many early Gnostics would have thought of the serpent in the Garden of Eden story as Jesus. The creator God wanted to keep humans trapped in the evil material world and knew they could be freed from that if they ate from the tree of Knowledge.

I had never thought about your last question. Gnostics woiuld probably not think it is possible to communicate directly to the supreme God, but you would not need to since Jesus provided the Gnosis you need to escape the material world.

Many of the documentaries that have been on recently have not done a good job of showing how different the beliefs of early Gnostic Christans were from what we would call orthodox Christians.

Well, to show you the truth. the Gnostic gospels are false. they were written hundreds of years after there supposed writers died. They were not inspired by the Holy Spirit they are completely false. So you need not worry about what they say. The Old Testament is completely valid and so is the New. You should turn to God that is in the Old Testament. (the one which consists of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.) so the answer to your question is no one.

I've read a lot of the Gnostic books, and I just don't see that about an evil creator god.IT'S LIKE THE CHRISTIAN churches today .Where do they get these doctrines from?To me ,it seems to tell more about the goddess that isn't in the bible.I don't see nothing wrong with the material world ,and i believe that every thing material manifest from the spiritual.I don't like to separate the two .If there is an evil creator in the world the only thing i see that is his evil creation is our gov., religions ,and shytstems.I see nothing wrong with nature.,sex, which I believe was created by our supreme creator or creatrix.

It all depends "who" wrote such Gnostic Gospels... for even at the time when Christ walked on the Earth, He had already warned about FALSE PROPHETS, and FALSE Christs as well.

We are told that one needs to question and to PROVE each doctrine, and determine whether it is of God or of man... Yes??

Peace be with you!
