Interact with people and study. I don't know the cure for dumbness, but since you wrote, you aren't dumb. if you get a good education and still feel dumb at times Welcome to the world. Ignorance is cured by education. Wisdom, however, is gained only by experience. You get to make you own mistakes to gain it(wisdom) and don't confuse education with Wisdom

It's naivete. Education is the answer. Go to your local library, check out a book a week. Make them classics. Also, read your newspaper everyday. Cover to cover. You can't be truly ignorant if you are educated. You can be an azz, but not truly ignorant.

people who are ignorant or naive can learn; they can be educated.
Ignorant means someone does not know something.
Not that they can not be taught.
some people don't want to learn. some people do not value knowledge.
some people have trouble learning one way ( such as books) but may do well at learning from experience.
and it seems to me that some people are PROUD of their ignorance, and fight to maintain it. As if they are saying/thinking, "i can't be the smartest, but I can succeed at being the dumbest."
You can't MAKE somebody learn if they don't want to.

By self analysis. Fisrt make sure you are not being ego centric and second make sure you are always seen things from out of the box. Then make a good judgement and if you think you posses reason, then stick to your belief.
