My dog does this too. My husband always calls him my shadow, as everywhere I go my dog goes. We were told that he does this because he has separation anxiety. I guess he picked me as his person, so he becomes nervous when I am not with him. From my perspective it is cute because I just love having him with me all the time. From my dog's perspective though, it is not so cute. It is a high anxiety level, and it is no fun to feel that way for human or dog. We are working on his separation anxiety issues and have made so much progress. The last thing we really have to get worked out is for him to stop following me around. As much as I love him being with me all of the time, it is not fair to him to have to feel this way. I think someone in a previous answer said to ignore the dog, and it will get better. That's what we were told as well. I was told not to greet him when I enter the house, not to talk to him, not to feed him (my other family will do that), not to play with him, etc. I will be on vacation in a few weeks so I plan on working on this then, I know it is going to be hard though. Good luck to you!!!

Maybe he's trying to help you..lol but I say he loves you and wants you to pay attention to him. He's probably lonely if he's the only pet. So just hurry up and mop and go and play with him....lol
But maybe you should put him in a crate when you do such task..!

The dog is obviously calling for attention. You must show him who's boss so he won't walk all over you. Dogs can detect body language. Show him thatyoua re the leader of the pack.

A cage or something maybe a leash or closing the doggy door lock it up but he must love you so if you have a problem you shouldn't have a dog.

He just wants to be petted and someone to play with. Play tug-o-war, throw a ball or frisbee with him. That will tire him out and he'll go sleep then you can work.

He loves you you freakin jerk, if you can't accept the responsiblities of a pet maybe you shouldn't have gotten one in the first place. Appreciate him while he is still around and stop being so selfish!!!!

Maybe you could put him in a cage when you are doing your duties, or give him something to eat to distract him. It sounds like your dog loves you, though :)

it wants and needs attention
it follows you because it loves you...

he thinks he control you and wants you to do every thing for him no matter what your doing, so don't pay him any attention, and watch the dog whisper on natural geographic
