yes, siberian huskys can be raised in florida. i live in georgia and good friend of the family bread huskys for many years. the only reason he quit was because he didn't want the responsibility anymore. i also had 2 huskies that lived for over 10 years. the one thing to keep in mind with the heat is keep a cooler place available for them out of the sun. their dog house with lots and lots of shade, as well as plenty of water. one thing to possibly consider would be to get one of the small kiddie pools (the hard plastic kind) and keep it half way filled with water for him to play in during the summer time.

I personally would not recomend rasing a siberian husky in Florida. The weather is too hot down there. Yet the www.akc.org might have some ways for you to solve your dilema. the husky is gonna require extra care for your part to keep him cool

You can shave the fur if you want, but it is not necessary. When kept inside, cold air is trapped in the undercoat. So they can be outside for a while and actually be cooler than other dogs. As they adjust to the climate, they will shed the fur that they don't need.
I once had a St Bernard in Florida.

ya but shave it up so it wont over heat and die. and also, remember to give it plenty of water because it is used to cold envoroments so it will get very dehyderated. you should also make sure that you give it plenty of air conditioning. and also a nice dog house IN THE SHADE so it has some sence of security. BUt most importantly, if you are a working women, get two so that they can play while you are at work.

Yes but if you put it outside you have to make sure it has water and shelter. I have one and in the summer she pants like crazy. Also make sure you let them sit in the air conditioning for a while to cool down.

sure but you might want to cut some fur off once in a while and provide shade.you can also provide a small pool to keep it cooled off. here is a link to the type of pool you can buy. they are like $10 at petsmart or anywhere else.

I don't see why not. I have one and am in Illinois. He is outside now basking in the sun. They are very hairy creatures though. Mine never stops shedding his coat. Just have to make sure they have shade and plenty of water.
