I work for the government, if this is true, this is the 1st time i ever heard of it. As far as i know, it isnt true. I know that we can get discounts on PC's and maybe goodyear tires, but that is all i know of. If you hear anything different, let me know...thanks

My sister worked for Marriott as a Hospitality Manager. Her wedding venue was free at any Marriott resort, the guests stayed for free and her honeymoon resort was free if she chose to stay in a Marriott property. She paid for the food, musicians, etc but the venue itself (Sawgrass Marriot in Florida) was free for her and her guests. That was an awesome deal! I have another friend who works at David's Bridal and gets big discounts on dresses but that's only good if you're in a wedding. Another friend worked at a florist for awhile and she paid wholesale for any flowers she purchased, which would also be a good deal. I don't know about anything else like catering or stationary. Good luck!

dealers did have a discount 2 years ago for people like teachers soldiers veterans etc.but no longer.gmc has a 0% for 72 months but thats about it.dodge has slashed 06 prices on many trucks about 10k but its no great deal.im looking for a new chevy silverado and cant seem to find exactly what i want.im selling a 90 straight out and with new paint and new rebuilt engine i hope to get at least 5k out of it.dealer wont allow but 2000-2500 less than 4 k on engine 140k on truck but all is great.

not as a general rule, but some local dealerships might do this as a gimmick to lure in buyers who are government employees.

more commonly, many used car dealers will offer special finanacing terms (possibly expressed as a "rebate" or "discount") to government/military employees, often because they are confident that if you don't pay, they can go after your wages from the government to collect...
