It's a religious custom; a "good Jew" like Jesus would be circ'd. It's a health issue in countries where there are tons of other health issues; circucisionis the least of their worries. It's not commonly done in western Europe, and in the US recently the rate is only about 50% of newborn boys.

Insurance won't cover it any more. It's unnecessary.

Because in Genesis, God made Abram, Abraham the father of many nations, also the hebrews, who were eventually freed through God, by moses, When God did this, God told Abraham to be circumcized, and that all males 8 days old to be, Abraham was circumcised at the age of 99, on the same day as his son. All male servants that came into their houses were to be circumcised also.
The law is no longer needed now, because we are clean through Jesus Christ, and it is said, that if a person is circumcised leave them that way, and it is also not mandatory anymore that they are.

Circumcision was one of the many laws given to the Jews by God in the old testament. Many of the laws were meant to promote hygiene and for the well being of the Jews. In the new covenant, it refers to one's heart being "circumcised" or "open" to the Holy Spirit.

It is mentioned because it was a requirement for Jewish males on the eighth day, to set them apart from the nations around them. It made them sons of the the Covenant, it is no longer mandatory as shown in the New Testament.

It was done so everyone knew that the Jews were set apart for God. It was a sign that they were His. circumcision was not just for some medical reason (as no one else did it back then and was perfectly fine) but rather a spiritual reason to set them apart.

Cause it's high holy ritual, and it has to be performed without anesthetic.
If you got yours any other way, then it doesn't count; and you're in the same category as any heathen pagan gentile nabob in infidel cultures, unless I'm mistaken. But what about Christians? you ask... Well, that a whole other question.

Dan H you idiot.
It's a Jewish ritual. Jews are not part of what you call the wacko Christians. If you are so Ignorant about religion you should be answering other questions rather than demonstrating how stupid you are.

Because in the old testament it said that if you were a believer you were to be circumsided. In the new testament Jesus says that all men can love and be loved by God no matter if they are circumsized or not. Best wishes
