Rituals are all around us. Humans are ritualistic beings. We make rituals out of everything.

In our everyday lives, kissing your spouse hello and goodbye, prayers before meal and bed, celebrating holidays the "family" way, even doing your morning toilette. Rituals also give reassurance to children, adding a sense of confidence through repetition. Family members are brought together and bonds are strengthened.

Society has rituals: graduations, inaugurations, the Independence Day, New Years, Halloween, parades, the Olympics opening ceremonies.

Religion also has rituals, like baptism, marriage, and funerals.

This is the way humans live, celebrate and rejoice. This is also how we pass our values and traditions onto future generations.

With love in Christ.

EVERY RELIGION has some type of Ritual.
Either it be with the earth's elements like the Wiccans, what ever the Catholics do (don't know much about how they worship) or it be Christian.

Christians seem to:
Pray before they eat (a ritual)
Read the bible (a ritual)
Asks for blessing by doing good to others (a ritual of sorts)

I even read a book a NUN wrote that envolved using Candles (as a Wiccan does) in communicating to God.

Ritual defined is :
"a. The prescribed order of a religious ceremony.
b. The body of ceremonies or rites used in a place of worship.

c.The prescribed form of conducting a formal secular ceremony: the ritual of an inauguration.
d. The body of ceremonies used by a fraternal organization.
e. A book of rites or ceremonial forms.
rituals
f. A ceremonial act or a series of such acts.
g. The performance of such acts.

A detailed method of procedure faithfully or regularly followed: My household chores have become a morning ritual.
A state or condition characterized by the presence of established procedure or routine."

The when the Roman Catholics where taking over they adapted (stole) alot of Pagan rituals, symbols, and holidays. You should have, or will learn, about that in world history in high school.
