Not at all. I am very attracted to successful, able and confident women. Lots of men do not like true equality so they seek out someone whom they consider to be in some way a trophy!

I don't get on with dominant women by equal measure. Teachers and I do not for instance communicate with at all well. Suspect it is their need to always be in parenting mode.

BUT equality of the sexes is complicated. I am good at what I do and of course by no means perfect. Single at 40 and am happy. Frustrated because i don't get to meet that able women who is also sensitive and open rather than just driven.

Just to add. Success is a strange creature, as is intelligence! I need an equal partner and as a bloke they are very difficult to find.

Are you the beginning?

I prefer intelligent women because it means I can have a proper conversation when I want to. Men who go for women with little intelligence are just after an easy lay.

I think some men are...but those are the ones who still have 1950s ideas about women, that they should be at home while the men go off to work.

But there are also plenty of men who have modern ideas about women who are smart. They believe that women have a right to be in the workplace, in any career they want, etc.

It depends on the man. My experience of American men is that generally they are but my highly educated English husband revels in my intellect. He is an Army Officer and has not expected me to fit into the 'Army Officers wife' mould. He celebrates my professional success with me. Frankly we share a mutual admiration society and enjoy gentle sparring about politics and Current Affairs. He wouldn't want a woman who was not emotionally and intellectually mature and I would find it difficult to relate to a man who couldn't keep up with me.

Well, I believe that is the case when the woman is of high stature and the man is almost inferior to that particular individual. Lucky for me I am just as intelligent as any woman...or man for that matter.
