i've been reallly trying to go on a diet -- it's been pretty healthy. the only hard part is i can't seem to give up sugar completely. so this is what addiction is like? when you don't have it -- you turn into a maniac and really look for it. anybody addicted to sugar who has an experience with giving up sugar completely? it's really hard. because if im going to watch what i eat, i might as well eliminate anything that's bad. it's like saying you're a vegetarian and eat meat. you know what i mean?

Sugar addiction is a serious problem, and as dangerous as the addiction to any other drug. When the body is used to receive a lot of sugar regularly, it will want more and more and more. And it is one of the most difficult addictions to get rid of. I know what I am talking about, since I have been through it.

When I realised that I was getting too large, I reduced fat and did a lot of exercise, but still I gained weight. Turned out it was the sugar that made me fat and uncomfortable, and it poisoned my digestive system.
Eventually I decided to change my life and stopped eating sugar. I lived on a radical diet of organic brown rice, lentils, porridge and fresh fruit and vegetables, drinking only water and tea. After four weeks my body was de-toxed and totally free of articifial sugar. And after two months I had lost 25 kg in weight, felt like newborn and very happy, and was also much fitter. During the diet I did not experience any weakness or bad side effects. The brown rice (and it has to be the brown type and no other) has massive energy but does not make fat. It also helps to detox the body and takes out sugar.
Ever since I started to change my life, I have not eaten any sugar or products sweatened with refined or artificial sugar. The only source of sugar for me is now natural fruit sugar. It works and is a great experience, and if I can do it, anyone can. The only thing you have to stick to is your own rules and principles, and have a strict regime of self-discipline.

I had very bad sugar addiction a few years ago. I couldn't pass a dunken donut shop with out going in for a dozen donuts to eat by myself. I thought as long as I was skinny I could eat as much as I want. But I learned that it was the sugar that was making me skinny and giving me head aches. I no longer have this addiction for sugar I don't buy it nor do I have any in my house. I'm a vegetarian I eat a lot of raw vegetables for good health. If someone offers me something sugary sweet it doesn't look like food to me. Even if I take a bite it just doesn't taste as good as it used to before I realized how much damage it was to my health.

Your addiction is mental not physical. There is no chemically addictive substance in sugar.

You need to exercise willpower.

you need to try and find sweet things without sugar that are healthy to substitute it, when you have a craving- chew sugar free gum that is sweet to try and keep away from it
