I think people tend to make Jesus look like themselves in order to feel closer to him. I have seen artwork in which Jesus is depicted as Asian, African American, or hispanic. Since Jesus died for everyone, I don't really see a problem with this.
Click on the link below to see the artwork of one of my favorite artists, He Qi. The Asian influence in his artwork is obvious, but I also think it is incredible.

Below is the only description that I know of in the Bible. (Rev 1:12-19) And it doesn't sound like any race I know of. I believe this description is symbolic of his character more than a physical description. White as snow.... hair and face... no one is that color.... eyes like fire... no one has orange or firey eyes.
The artist of the most famous depictions of Jesus were painting what they were commissioned to paint. That isn't what Jesus looked like.
No christian tried to change what he looked like. Most Christian quite understand that those paintings are not an accurate representation of the man called Christ.

the bible never said he was caucasian, people bring their own ideas and ideals with them when they read the bible. because people describe him a certain way does not make it the truth, nor does it mean that other people have to accept it as the truth. but generally, i'd say that if your concerned about what colour Jesus' skin was, then your missing the point.

Arabs invaded the area after the time of Jesus. Depicted as caucasian due to Eurocentric propaganda...DaVinci used his boy lover as the model for his paintings.

Jesus was a Jew. That makes Him caucasian. The other TWO races are mongoloid and *******.

He was the son of god, and god was an Aryan. Really, he was thought up by white men to control other white men. They needed someone to relate to.

Yes, that is another example of how the Catholic church (and protestant churches) changes the Bible and Christianity to its own needs.
