He does exist. As a concept, and as a symbol (for believers) of whatever is good. And he does exist as the symbol of the long lasting MANIPULATION of churches and governments. In the name of god people have been reduced to their innermost fears of the unknown, such as death and what happens after that. God is the pretext to manipulate us and control our behaviour in the benefit of a few, who are probably not believers, anyway. And god is the reason why many people don't actually ACT on their own behalf, because they expect this god to act for them, and solve their real problems (more REAL than this god guy).
